International Signings & Famous Faces
Recognise some of these famous faces in our wee Rogues Gallery? Well these are just a few of the sporting stars taking part in the 2009 Hearts & Heroes Challenge - and we would love you to be taking part too...
Poppyscotland CEO Jim Panton has entered an all star team with ex Olympic athlete Steve Cram, Commonwealth Games medalist Allison Curbishley, and Chris Moon MBE - who's survived kidnap, threatened execution, being blown up, losing his limbs and most of his blood - let's hope that he doesn't need to put any of this past experience to use on the day!
Unsurprisingly, a large contingent of rugby players have also entered the event, these include Gregor Townsend, Roy Laidlaw, John Frame, Ian McLauchlan, Roger Baird, Cammy Mather, Euan Kennedy, Stewart Campbell, Iain Paxton, Jim Pollock, Craig Joiner, Ian Barnes, Ian Milne, Jim Renwick, Keith Robertson, Rodger Arneil, Gordon Hunter and Peter Dods...
Post Event Party & Prizegiving...
Once teams cross the finish line - that's only the start! We have a great night lined up at Melrose RFC with a grand party involving The Prov Johnston Tribute Band, a three course meal from the famous King Boar, dancing and a general sense of a job well done. Oh and there will be a licensed (and subsidised) bar till midnight.
We are chuffed that the Prov Johnstone Band are going to be entertaining us at the. This 12 piece band are primarily a dance band playing a mixture of Soul, Rhythm & Blues and Rock & Roll music. We are delighted that they are supporting the Hearts and Heroes Challenge and echo their sentiments that "everyone has a great time as well as helping to raise funds for such great causes."
As for the prizegiving - for the more competitive amongst you we've got all sorts of prize categories for all sorts of teams - and with trophies being presented by Harvey Nicols, Malmaison, Rhino and The Caledonian Brewery there's everything to race for...

Corporate Sponsorship Information
We have some sponsorship opportunities available for this year's event. If you or your company are interested in gaining some excellent brand exposure whilst benefiting three very worthwhile charities, please download our corporate sponsorship document here or contact John Frame - john@sportsmanscharity.com or call +44 (0)7715 112784.
The sponsorship theme in this difficult financial time, for both our teams and our corporate sponsors, is the old Scots wisdom of "Mony a mickle maks a muckle"! So, however you choose to do it, your help, small or great, would be appreciated in considering the smallest of financial support.
A massive "Thank You" to our sponsors that have confirmed so far... |
